About Us

Established in 1998 with a vision of producing the best quality, innovative and entertaining stories, Instinct Entertainment is one of Australia’s most prolific and successful feature film production companies. It has developed, financed, produced and distributed a range of commercially successful mainstream movies and award winning drama’s aimed at the international marketplace. It is currently actively developing and producing content for traditional and emerging distribution methods.

As part of producing these projects Instinct has provided the VFX work required and in conjunction with it’s partner at The Film Hub, the sound design.  It now offers these services to other production companies and producers.

The company is owned and operated by principals with varying and differing tastes and this dynamic ensures that the Company develops a wide variety of projects with the ability to cross over into a broad range of multi media platforms. This is one of Instinct Entertainment’s major strengths and continues to grow as the company does.

Feature Films

Spin Out (2016) – Romantic Comedy to be released by Sony Pictures in September 2016.  A wild bush cowboy lets loose at a rip-roaring Ute Muster and B & S Ball. When his best mate, a firecracker jillaroo, announces she’s leaving for the city, he wakes up to the fact she’s the love of his life. Amidst a paddock full of utes, bucket-loads of rum, and a rollicking party, he must get his act together fast or lose her forever.

The Subjects (2015) – Anti Super-Hero Thriller about eight strangers locked in a room for a clinical trial.  They unknowingly take a revolutionary drug that gives them all superpowers.

Little Johnny the Movie (2011) – The animated comedy that follows the hilarious antics of the bawdy character ‘Little Johnny’ of Little Johnny joke fame.

Torn (2010) – Starring Costas Mandylor and Damien Richardson.

Charlie & Boots (2009) – starring Paul Hogan and Shane Jacobson.  Nominated for the AFI Highest Grossing Film Award and News limited Readers Choice Awards 2009.

Singh is Kinng (2007) – starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.

Salute (2006) – Story of the involvement of Peter Norman, Tommie Smith and John Carlos in the famous Black Power Salute at the 1968 Olympics.  Audience Choice Award & Best Doco. Rhode Island Film Festival 2008.

Where The Wild Things Are (2006) – Voiced by Forest Whittaker, Catherine Keener, Tom Noonan, Paul Dano. – Provided Conceptual Art.

You and Your Stupid Mate (2005) – Starring Nathan Phillips, Angus Sampson and Rachel Hunter.

Hating Alison Ashley (2005)- Starring Delta Goodrem, Saskia Burmeister, Craig McLachlan and Tracey Mann. Provided Production Design.
