Shana Levine

Shana joined Instinct Entertainment as one of its directors in 1999 after co-producing the ABC/FFC accord documentary For The Defence and was one of the producers of the feature films Till Human Voices Wake Us, Strange Bedfellows and Torn. She is also an executive producer of the documentary feature film Salute due for release in 2008 and is intending to direct and co-produce the documentary TheTattooist. Shana, as part of Instinct in a joint venture with Micsound, was also instrumental in setting up the Film Hub in Port Melbourne: a fully digital studio including a skilled and experienced team of people and facilities to digitally record, edit, animate, score, sound design and distribute movies and television in-house.
In addition, she has completed a number of courses at AFTRS and Open Channel to further develop her creative skills including video production, directing for the screen and investigating performance with the Mike Leigh Method.
Before joining Instinct, Shana practiced at a Melbourne based law firm, as an associate, specialising in entertainment law. In this capacity, Shana was invited as a guest speaker for a variety of industry events and courses and represented many of Australias leading independent film and television producers, directors, distributors and financiers in a wide variety of projects specialising in documentary projects. Shana holds Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Law degrees from Monash University in Victoria, Australia and is currently a qualified corporate lawyer.
While still at University, Shana was awarded a one-year scholarship to U.C.L.A, where she studied Entertainment Law and Management of the Hollywood Studio System with Peter Guber (then head of Columbia/Tri Star). She also interned in the publicity department of the 24 hour entertainment channel, E! Entertainment Television.

Dean Murphy

Dean is a writer, producer and director. Dean wrote, produced and directed his first feature at the age of 16 and followed this with a sitcom pilot for Australia's Nine Network. In 1992 Dean wrote, produced and directed his second feature before moving to the US to write and develop projects with producer George Folsey Jr (An American Werewolf in London, Trading Places, Coming to America). Dean returned to Australia in 1997 to direct his third feature and became a founding member of Instinct Entertainment, producing both features and an award-winning short. In 2004, Dean co-wrote and directed the highly successful Strange Bedfellows and has just completed producing the thriller, Torn. Dean is now developing various projects as both a producer and director including an animated feature.

David Redman

DAVID REDMAN is one of the founders of Melbourne based media group Instinct Entertainment. They are currently in production on the feature documentary Salute that will be released by Instinct Distribution in conjunction with Transmission / Paramount in July, an LA set thriller, Torn with Costas Mandylor and Damien Richardson, an R rated animated feature, Little Johnny the Movie, and a live action childrens series Zokky the Kangaroo.
Most recently Instinct produced Strange Bedfellows with Paul Hogan, Michael Caton and Pete Postlewaite and also produced Till Human Voices Wake Us with Guy Pearce and Helen Boham Carter which was acquired by Paramount Pictures for the US, UK and other territories. David also line produced the upcoming Bollywood hit, Singh is Kinng to be released in August, produced the Village Roadshow distributed, Take Awa, the Hoytes/Nine distributed You and Your Stupid Mate and the Becker distributed black comedy Muggers.
Prior to this David worked as an associate producer on three films based out of the UK. The Oscar nominated, UK-French-Macedonian co-production Before the Rain; The UK German co-production The Young Poisoners Handbook and the UK-Canadian co-production Sweet Angel Mine. David also produced the short film Hand of Fate and the feature Funny Man. David previously ran the UK based sales, distribution and exhibition company, Recording Releasing, a joint venture between Island Records founder Chris Blackwell and producer Jeremy Thomas.

Michelle Wilson

Since graduating from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Screen Studies and Contemporary Photography, Michelle has accumulated a wealth of experience in all areas of film. Upon graduation Michelle worked in the editing department on Alkinos Tsilimidoss feature film Tom White, as well as Dean Murphys feature film Strange Bedfellows as post production co-ordinator. She has since worked as an Event Manager and then moved onto becoming a collaborative member of Instinct Entertainment as a producer, working on various in house projects. During this time Michelle also worked as the Melbourne based publicists on the Feature Film 'Josh Jarman'. In 2006, Michelle Co-Produced her first feature film 'Torn', starring Costas Mandylor (Saw 4, Picket Fences) and Damien Richardson (City Homocide, The Hard Word). More recently Michelle has produced the childrens pilot series 'Zokky the Kangaroo' and is now heading up the new exciting children's division of Instinct Entertainment known as Instinct KIDS with Ella Lehaf. Currently Michelle is developing and producing a number of in house projects, including the children's animation 'Toocool' and 'JuJu Eyeballs'. .................................................................................................................

Ralph Moser

Ralph Moser has worked in the film industry for almost 17 years. He has designed feature films, television series for major networks, large budget television commercials, music videos, and has successfully undertaken major commercial interior and high-concept industrial design projects. Ralph worked as the Production Illustrator and featured artist for the TNT-TV produced Stephen King anthology Series, 'Nightmares and Dreamscapes' storyboarding and conceptualising every episode to provide continuity and to capture Kings terrifying vision. Shortly after he joined Designer K.K. Barrett and renowned film director Spike Jones as concept artist for the Maurice Sendak childrens book classic, 'Where the Wild Things Are' due for release in 2008. His Production Designer credits include the Hong Kong/Australian co-production, 'The Sword of Bushido' where he gained invaluable on-set experience in Southeast Asia, 'Under the Gun' (a.k.a. Ironfist), 'Rainbows End' , 'Four Jacks', 'Lets Get Skase', 'Till Human Voices Wake Us', 'Strange Bedfellows' and 'Hating Allison Ashley'. Ralph has since joined Instinct Entertainment, developing projects and collaborating on their current slate of motion pictures. He most recently worked as Visual Effects supervisor on 'Torn'.

Ella Lehaf

Ella completed her studies with a Degree in the Music Industry in 2000, this followed up with her working in many aspects of the Music Industry for 6 years including the set up of a record company, Event Management and Tour Management. Furthermore her Event Management skills are continually developed through her involvement in the Melbourne International Tap Festival.
In 2006 Ella decided to turn her skills to the film industry lining up her first feature film project Torn with Instinct Entertainment as a Production Coordinator. On completion of this Ella continued her film work as Production Manager (Australian Unit) for Yash Raj Films/Swish Black Cat on Chak De India in Melbourne and Sydney. This witnessed her co-ordinate the Indian & Australian crews and assist with the organization of Shah Rukh Khan and family during their time in Australia. Additionally Ella has dabbled in freelance journalism having been a Music Editor for local magazine Your Industry and currently writing editorial for international music industry trade magazine AnR. Ella has most recently joined the team at Instinct Entertainment to assist with the exciting new projects and aid with heading up Instinct KIDS with Michelle Wilson.

POST PRODUCTION

John Leonard

John Leonard has over forty years experience in broadcast and corporate film and television. An early adopter of non-linear editing, he ordered the first Lightworks bought in Australia to cut Australias first digitally cut motion picture. John has also provided technical support on international productions like Six Degrees of Separation and Romeo and Juliet. Most recently John has edited two international award winning short films, The Upstairs Neighbour and Emma and the Barista. He has also served as a board member of Open Channel, a public media access organisation, and was on the industry advisory board for the Computer Animation Design Centre at Swinburne University, reporting to government. In 2005 John was inducted as an honorary life member of the Australian Screen Editors Guild.
